My name is <strong>Ninette <\/strong>and I\u2019m the <strong>co-founder of Healing Art Works<\/strong>, together with curator Edith Doove.<\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:'system-ui', '-apple-system', 'system-ui', sans-serif;\">I took this photo 3 months after I had a spinal stroke in 2018. Always in pain, sleeping badly... one morning at 5 AM I went downstairs in a bad mood, looked outside and saw this view of my misty back garden. Grabbed my phone and took just 1 photo. I felt better straight away. Nature is a healer!<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:'system-ui', '-apple-system', 'system-ui', sans-serif;\">In 2001 I founded Beauty without Irony (BWI) and in 2020 Beauty for a Better World, both with the goal to promote real beauty to help make people feel better. For BWI I have meanwhile asked thousands of people what true beauty means to them and their answers are pretty much identical: it\u2019s either nature, love in all its forms or discovering other cultures. Nature being first place by far.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:'system-ui', '-apple-system', 'system-ui', sans-serif;\">When Edith and I started Healing Art Works (HAW) a few weeks ago, I thought about what I would like to see in a hospital room when staying or visiting there and again, it\u2019s nature photography. Or uplifting -and preferably colourful- art. Many artists and photographers are joining HAW right now and I\u2019m pretty excited about the future. Making people and the world feel and look better again never gets old!<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:'system-ui', '-apple-system', 'system-ui', sans-serif;\">We decided to open this shop for two reasons: to spread the word about Healing Art Works (every piece has a QR code leading to more information about the project) and to raise some funds, both for the participating artists and for Edith and me. This will allow us to buy frames for the art works, for example.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:'system-ui', '-apple-system', 'system-ui', sans-serif;\">Going outside to my garden now: the magnolia is starting to bloom!
